Local Holiday Artist Markets

One of the best aspects of living in this area of the country is taking advantage of all the creative artisans in our midst. Weavers, potters, glass blowers, bowl turners, quilters, knitters, you name it, we have it! Some neighborhoods are so full of artists and crafters, like Preston Woods, Old West Durham and Watts Hillandale, they have regular annual and/or biannual art walks. Though some have just occurred, this Wednesday at the Durham Hotel is truly a special market highlight for the holidays. Here is the post from the Durham Hotel…Shop Small at the Holiday Market

Join us for a cherished tradition at the Holiday Market this Wednesday, December 11, from 6–9 PM. In partnership with Vert & Vogue, this event is your one-stop destination for locally-made gifts and festive holiday cheer—all while making a difference in our community.

“This year, net proceeds from ticket sales support Y Learning, a vital program from the Durham YMCA that provides free, certified teacher-led academic support, after-school care, and summer camp to Durham families who need it most.

“What to Expect:

  • Festive Drinks: Sip seasonal cocktails as you browse.

  • Local Artisans & Makers: Discover unique, handmade gifts while supporting small businesses.

  • Stress-Free Shopping: With two ticket options, we’ve made it easy to enjoy a comfortable shopping experience.

  • Live Music on the Roof: At 7:30 PM, enjoy an enchanting performance by Ally J, a Durham-based singer/songwriter, under the stars. This rooftop performance is open to all and does not require a ticket.

“Celebrate the spirit of the season with us—shop local, give back, and enjoy an evening of holiday magic.
